We are all familiar with Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting Last Supper. The painting depicts Jesus having his last meal with his twelve disciples before his crucifixion.
Many has debated whether the person sitting on Jesus's right hand side is actually a woman - namely Mary Magdalene, Jesus's wife. This conspiracy theory was made famous by Dan Brown's book Davinci Code.
Well, through the use of modern imaging technologies, we are going to get to the bottom of this mystery. Here below we have the original painting:

Well, through the use of modern imaging technologies, we are going to get to the bottom of this mystery. Here below we have the original painting:
The first thing that stood out for me was that "box" right below Jesus. It looked so out of place from the rest of the picture. Was this a mistake by the painter? Or could someone else have painted over the original?
By using our Digital Imagining X-ray (DIX) technology, we slowly penetrate through the digital layers to reveal what's behind that box. This is the result after one week of intensive processing:
As you can see, it's still not 100%. So after another week of digital penetration, the box has disintegrated. This was what we got:
The initial study of the painting revealed some extra feet just like the rest of the paintings. Not very exciting. We further enhanced the painting to bring out the best possible details. The result was amazing.
Eureka! Once we zoomed under the table, you can clearly see another figure (most likely to be Mary Magdalene), kneeling before Jesus, quite possible anointing Jesus with her perfumes. | Although the disciples on the right side of the painting looks disgruntled and appalled at the act, Jesus approves of his last anointment. |
There you go ladies and gentlemen, this concludes the fact that Mary Magdalene was actually with Jesus on his last day, having her last supper.
